Facilitated by Saluhan artists, Magkasama Reading Group is a casual, open-invitation reading group for Filipino community to engage in a social catch-up and reflect on a chosen text by a Filipino writer. Open to all genres, including novels, essays, poetry, and everything in-between. This edition’s MRG will focus on the work of Bas Umali, a long-time community organiser and writer based in the Archipelago. Pangayaw: Decolonizing Resistance in a Network of Communities in the Archipelago explores the concepts of decolonization, anarchism, and social movements of the global south.
